Project
Being from a small town outside of Oslo, I used to think in my childhood that Oslo was a huge city. With skyscrapers, large motorways, giant ports and so on, but as I grew older this glorified image of Oslo, as a large metropolitan area, started to fade. I traveled and saw lots of the world. Other cities, other people and I started to see the huge difference in what Oslo was and what I thought it was. Oslo was just a small city and I started to understand how small Norway was compared to other countries. To my great joy, at that time, the Oslo city council agreed to start building the "Barcode" area. A part of the city that would be new, with all new buildings and all new establisments and homes. I saw with great awe the giant builings rising from the ground. At the same time I started to see why these building never had been seen in Norway and why I would start to resent them. At the same time as the barcode project started, the norwegians faced what long had just been a whisper. Something everyone knew, but would not admit. We started to see how large the gap between rich and poor was in "wealthy" Norway.
